The island of Mljet, gem of the Adriatic. It is a place where the work of nature has been way more gracious that the work of men. Thanks to it's beauty it is considered to be one of world's most beautiful islands. The legend says that because of the beauty of the island that charmed him and because of his love for Calypso Ulysses stayed on the island for 9 years.

It magnificence lies in Mljet National Park, numerous islets and bays like harbour Sobra, together with the centre of the island, the main ferry harbour, harbour master's office, fuel supply, a minimarket and much, much more. In 1985, the family of Petar and Jadranka Debelic, builds Villa Mungos after working in hospitality industry in Germany for 20 years.

Situated by the sea it offers you a restaurant with 120 seats on a one-of -a-kind terrace where you can enjoy home-made specialties, fish, shells, dishes made under a baking lid, grilled and barbecued dishes. There is also a coffee bar, eight double rooms (of which four with a view of the sea and the terrace); two 40m2 suits with a terrace, a bedroom, a children's room, a kitchen, a bathroom, a toilet and air conditioning. We offer you also anchorage for five yachts, depth not less than 4 meters.

The island of Mljet

At first sight Mljet doesn't seem to have a jagged coastline. It is an elongated island, with an average width of 3 km, 37 km long. It is an Island of great diversity and contrast, and "Mljet" National Park covers his north-western part with an area of 5.375 ha of protected land and surrounding sea. This area was proclaimed as national park 11 November 1960 and represents the first institutionalised attempt to protect an original ecosystem in the Adriatic. Mljet National Park has been proclaimed as an area of special interest. and represents the first institutionalised attempt to protect an original ecosystem in the Adriatic.

It's unique panoramic landscape of well-intended coastline, cliffs, reefs and numerous islands, as well as the rich topography of the nearby hills, which rise steeply above the sea and hide numerous ancient stone villages. Mljet's outer coastline is exposed to the south sea and is therefore steep and full of "garmas" collapsed caves. The inner coastline faces the mainland and is exposed to the "bura", a strong northeasterly wind, but is less elevated with easier access.

The salt lakes are a unique geological and oceanographic phenomenon of worldwide importance. They originated approximately 10,000 years ago and, until the Christian era, they were freshwater lakes. More on www.np-mljet.hr
